Ingredients

  • 1 47 1% milk (4 cups)
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground Ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground Allspice
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
  • 2 whole Cloves
  • 1 tablespoon Honey Dark or light

Utensils

  • 1 Sauce Pan
  • Whisk or Spatulae
  • 1 Sieve or Chinoise
  • Coffee Mugs

Directions

A good variation of the hot drink. Combine all the ingredients in a sauce pan.  Bring slowly to a simmer and let it bubble for just a few minutes.  Stir to make sure it does not burn on the bottom.  Take off the heat and let cool in the pan for about 10 minutes.  Strain if you do not want to have bits of clove in your Chai.  Serve hot or let it cool further and serve iced. It can be put into a covered container and kept in the refrigerator for up to a week.
