My client today wanted a crumble. Usually not a problem, but she only had three apples and the recipe usually calls for at least eight.
Hmmm.

I found in her pantry two cans of apple pie filling. Lots more sugar than I would normally use, but it was right there.
I made the usual amount of crumble mixture and started to layer the apple goop from the can and the oatmeal crumble.
I hope she likes it. It took less time to cook because the apples were already done. It was still more moist than I am used to.
It went into containers easily. Love portion control!
